Three Blitzboks and four Argentinians have been included in World Rugby’s seven-man Dream Team for the Dubai Sevens.
The Blitzboks were peerless as they powered to a record-eighth Dubai title this past weekend, securing pool-stage wins over Great Britain, Ireland and Japan before overpowering Australia in the quarter-finals, Argentina in the semi-finals and the USA in the title decider.
As a result of their dominance, Ronald Brown, Selvyn Davids and JC Pretorius have been selected in the Dream Team.
The composite team is completed by four Argentinians – Santiago Alvarez, Tomas Lizazu, Lautaro Bazan Velez and German Schulz – with no players from other teams making the cut.
A second Dubai Sevens tournament will take place this weekend, with the Blitzboks again drawn in a pool alongside Great Britain, Ireland and Japan.
An exciting blend of pace, power and skill from the @Blitzboks and @lospumas7arg
