Ulster have reportedly aborted their quest to add another Springbok forward to their payroll due to contractual issues.
According to RugbyPass, Ulster wanted to lure Springbok Bomb Squad member Steven Kitshoff to Belfast, but the Irish club has missed out on recruiting him because the prop does not have an exit clause in his current contract with the Stormers.
That means the potential move would have to include a big transfer fee, which is said to have ended Ulster’s interest in the 29-year-old.
Ulster recently confirmed its recruitment of Springbok No 8 Duane Vermeulen from the Vodacom Bulls in a deal that will run until 2023.
