Elton Jantjies could potentially break Bryan Habana’s points-scoring record during Saturday’s Test between the Springboks and England at Twickenham.
Jantjies started at flyhalf for the Springboks in the Test victory over Scotland at Murrayfield, contributing 11 points including three penalties and a conversion.
That allowed the 31-year-old to surpass Naas Botha and claim fifth place on the Springboks’ all-time points-scorers list.
Jantjies, who now has 323 points in 43 appearances for South Africa, shared the position with Botha before the Test in Edinburgh.
In fourth place, is iconic Bok wing Bryan Habana who scored 67 tries and a total of 335 points for the South Africa in 124 Test matches.
Jantjies would need to score 13 points against England to draw level with Habana.
Handre Pollard, currently third on the list with 586 points, could also add to his tally this weekend.
