Springbok wing Cheslin Kolbe will return to France to continue his recovery from a knee injury and will be officially unveiled as a Toulon player having completed his move from Toulouse.
Kolbe was forced to sit out the Springboks’ fixtures against Australia and New Zealand in the away leg of the Rugby Championship after spraining his knee during a training session.
Toulon confirmed on their website that Kolbe will be making the trip to France at the end of this week and will be introduced to their fans before the kick-off of their Top 14 match against Racing 92 on Saturday.
While Kolbe is at the club, their medical staff will take the opportunity to help him with his recovery from his injury.
“Cheslin Kolbe will arrive in Toulon at the end of the week to be introduced to the media and supporters but also to continue his treatment,” Toulon said on the club’s website.
“The medical staff of Rugby Club Toulonnais will therefore take advantage of the arrival of their winger to carry out various medical examinations and thus consider a return to competition as quickly as possible.
“Note that Cheslin Kolbe will be presented to the Rouge et Noir [Red and Black] supporters before the kick-off of the Rugby Club Toulonnais-Racing 92 match this Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Mayol Stadium.”
