Where you should put your money in Super Rugby this weekend, according to MARK KEOHANE.
As we head into the business end of the competition, home comforts cannot be underestimated. Away wins are the exception at this stage rather than the rule, and I struggle to see the two visiting teams upsetting the form book this weekend.
Brumbies vs Chiefs
A rematch of last year's final, this match is a meeting of two sides on the decline. The Chiefs have looked a shadow of their former selves this season, while the Brumbies have blown hot and cold. I expect a repeat of the meeting from earlier this season, where the Brumbies crushed the Chiefs in Canberra. You can get 9/20 at Betflash on the Brumbies to send the defending champions packing, but I'm backing them to win by seven points or more at 21/20 (R205 return for every R100 wagered).
Sharks vs Highlanders
South Africa's remaining hope, the Sharks, will face the Highlanders at Kings Park in a repeat of their Round 11 clash. It was the Highlanders that were victorious on that ocassion, keeping the Sharks tryless while managing a four-try bonus point of their own. The Sharks are a team built for play-off rugby though, and I don't see them having any trouble here. The betting reflects this with Betflash making Jake White's team odds-on favourites to progress. The Sharks should have too much firepower for the Landers and are backed to win by 11 or more points at 6/10 here.
