Munster have confirmed that Springbok lock RG Snyman is progressing well with his modified training programmes as he continues to recover from a knee injury.
Snyman has endured an extremely challenging past few months, with a serious knee injury and then a freak fire-pit accident forcing him out of both the British & Irish Lions series and Rugby Championship.
At the end of August, the Boks announced that Snyman was unable to make the trip to Australia ‘due to personal reasons’.
Next weekend, Munster will open their United Rugby Championship campaign against the Sharks and, while Snyman won’t be expected to be available for this encounter, it does appear that he is finally nearing a return to play.
That could put him back in contention for the Springboks’ end-of-year tour, which commences with a clash with Wales on 6 November.
