The Blues and Reds will play a Super Rugby match in Apia on 2 June later this year.
It will be the first Super Rugby match hosted in Samoa since the early 1990's and will be penciled as a home game for the Blues.
Blues chief executive Michael Redman says the move was a way for the Auckland team to reward its strong Samoan following.
'Our Blues region is home to around 150 000 proud Samoans and we have 15 players in our team with Samoan heritage, along with our head coach Tana Umaga,' he said.
