Stormers fullback Cheslin Kolbe will join French giants Toulouse at the end of the 2017 Super Rugby season.

Toulouse announced the signing on their website on Wednesday morning, with club director of rugby Fabien Pelous saying the addition of Kolbe will complement their team.

The 23-year-old Kolbe has made 35 Super Rugby appearances for the Stormers since 2013, and has also featured regularly for the Blitzboks between 2012 and 2016.

'I spotted this unusual South African player at the U20 World Cup held in France in 2013 already,' said Pelous. 'Undoubtedly his turn of speed, his excellent play off the mark and his superior aerial ability will be assets for Toulouse.'

It is unclear how long Kolbe's contract with Toulouse will run for, with the club only confirming he will join them next season.
