Injured Cheetahs captain Francois Venter could make his Super Rugby return at the end of February.
Venter sustained the injury during last year's Currie Cup and aggravated it on the Springboks' end-of-year tour.
He underwent an ankle operation in early December and has been wearing a moon boot.
According to Netwerk24, Venter has been working in the gym and will see a doctor next Monday to find out when he can start training on the field with his teammates.
'The rehabilitation looks good and the chances are good that I will be right at the end of February,' said Venter.
