Marty Banks will make his Super Rugby debut for the Hurricanes against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.
Coach Mark Hammett has also given Mark Abbott and ex-Blues and Kings centre Hadleigh Parkes their debuts for the franchise, being placed in the starting XV, with forwards Chris Eves and Adam Hill also set to gain their first Super Rugby caps off the bench.
Captained by an experienced Conrad Smith, the starting line-up features nine All Blacks and two Samoan internationals.
