Round 1 features just the four South African teams in action and there are some must-have selections to help get your Fantasy League off to a good start.
WILLIE LE ROUX
The Cheetahs star is the most popular player by some margin. With thousands of manager selections, you can’t afford to be without him in case he delivers the expected standout performance. He’s also the most selected captain, so if you’d like to differentiate yourself from the crowd, look elsewhere for the all-important captaincy choice.
RAYMOND RHULE
Rhule is a great captain choice if you don’t want to follow the crowd with Le Roux. He’s explosive and the type of player who can score tries and lend some assists from the get-go.
PAT LAMBIE
There are only four possible kickers starting this round and Lambie has arguably the best chance at delivering the points. Home advantage and form count heavily in these opening stages.
MARCELL COETZEE
Coetzee was the Sharks' second-highest try-scorer in Super Rugby last year. He’s a player with a shot at repeating that kind of performance and bettering 2013’s 16 appearances, four tries and two assists.
JJ ENGELBRECHT
Even though the Bulls are underdogs, Engelbrecht is the kind of player who can still deliver some points with his hard running. This could be a huge season for the young centre.
