South Africa will face England in the quarter-finals of the PE Sevens after finishing top of their pool.
The Blitzboks made easy work of their pool on day one at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, racking up 100 points and conceding just one try. A week on from annexing the Dubai title, they showed no sign of a Cup hangover, and must be considered favourites to take home the title they won last year.
Neil Powell's team laboured to victory in their opening match against the USA, but were much improved in their second outing as Seabelo Senatla grabbed a brace in a 38-7 victory over Kenya.
They capped off the day with a convincing 36-0 win over Wales as Cecil Afrika surpassed Fabian Juries' all-time Blitzboks points-scoring record, while Seabelo Senatla grabbed yet another hat-trick.
The Blitzboks will now face England in the Cup quarter-finals, after they finished second behind New Zealand in the 'pool of death'.
Blitzboks results (Day 1):
Beat USA 26-0
Beat Kenya 38-7
